Although cooking is not an exact science, differences in measurement can make your dishes taste differently each time. Many times, blogs, books and various cooking resources have ingredients listed in different measurements. Different countries follow different units of measurements. The following conversion charts comes very handy in understanding and using correct amount of ingredients.

I am going to post a few conversion tables.The listed below is a version for quick reference.

 

16 tablespoons = 1 cup = 237 ml
10 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons = 2/3 cup

8 tablespoons = 1/2 cup = 118 ml

6 tablespoons = 3/8 cup
5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon = 1/3 cup
4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup = 59 ml
2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon

1 oz = 28.35 gm = 1 fl. oz = 29.57 ml = 1/8 cup = 6 tsp. = 2 tbsp.
