Corn Starch Facial Masks

Finding inexpensive and natural skin care is easy, especially when you look at your Kitchen. Most of the key ingredients of many commercial facial masks are sitting in your kitchen or refrigerator. One example is Cornstarch. Cornstarch, made from the endosperm portion of the corn kernel, has water/moisture absorption properties and is used as a binder or thickening agent in baking and cooking.
Due to its ability to make soothing and smooth paste with water, it becomes a great ingredient for facial masks. Here are some remarkable cornstarch beauty recipes.

For Dry Skin: (Cornstarch Lemon Mask)

  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 beaten egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
Mix ingredients thoroughly to form a smooth paste. The lemon cleanses and exfoliates, the egg white nourishes and firms, while the cornstarch softens the skin.

For oil Skin: (Strawberry Honey Cornstarch Mask)
  • 1/2 cup(s) strawberries
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 cup(s) milk low fat
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour or cornstarch
Puree strawberries with honey in a blender, pour into a bowl. Add cornstarch and milk together to strawberries mixture. Apply to your face, avoiding the delicate area around your eyes. Leave on for 20-30 minutes, and then rinse off with cool water.

For removing Blackheads (Cornstarch Vinegar Remedy)
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
Mix the two to make a paste and apply on the affected area for 15-20 minutes; remove it off with a moist cotton ball. Wash off with warm water. This helps with-how to get rid of blackheads.

Apply a facial mask once a week, rinsing your face first with warm water and then rinsing with cold (to close the pores) after you finish removing the mask. Facemask seals moisture in your skin, drawing out impurity and tightening pores.
