Tea Bags - Home remedies

Tea is really a wonder drink. Drinking tea has great heath benefits is well known. But less known is tea bags as a home remedy. Here are some common home remedies.

Cool minor sunburns
Wet tea bags applied to the affected areas will soothe the skin. If you want to treat the sunburn on your whole body, use tea bags in the bathwater, and soak your body in the tea bath. This will greatly relieve sunburn pain.

For minor burns and irritation
Tea bags work well for other types of minor burns too. Apply cooled black tea directly, or a cloth damped with tea to the affected area. The tannins present in black tea give relief from superficial burn injuries and irritation. This simple home remedy works well with razor burns, minor cuts and poison ivy rash and bee sting as well. Use plain black tea for this remedy.

Soak two tea bags in lukewarm water and place them over your closed eyes for 20 minutes. The tannins in the tea act to reduce puffiness and soothe the tired eyes. Tea bag remedy for puffy eyes.

Conditioner for dry hair
Wash your hair with a cup of freshly brewed tea as a final rinse after shampooing. This will give natural shine to the hair and them silky.

Foot deodorizer
Boil three or four tea bags in one quart of water for ten minutes. Let it cool so that it makes a comfortable soak. Soak your feet for twenty minutes. Tannin is a drying agent. And it kills the bacteria which cause the foot odor.

For bleeding gums
To stop the bleeding and soothe the pain from a lost or recently pulled tooth, soak a tea bag with cool water and press it directly against the cavity. It will stop the bleeding and form a clot. Gargling with the herbal peppermint tea reduces toothache.

Relieve injection pain for the baby
Soak a tea bag and place it over the site of the injection. Hold it gently in place for some time. The tannic acid in the tea will soothe the soreness.

Soothe nipples sore
Brew a cup of tea, remove the bag and place it in ice water for a minute. Press this bag on the sore nipple and cover it under your bra. The tannic acid in the wet tea leaves will heal the sore nipple.

Canker sores

Drain a boil
