Video: How to do Bicycle Crunches

Doing crunches properly, great absAmerican Council on Exercise's study rated the Bicycle Crunches as the most effective ab exercise. This is the most effective exercise targeting the rectus abdominis and the obliques (the waist). When performed properly, it helps in building abs and core strength.

  1. Focus on keeping correct form throughout and go slow.
  2. Do not stretch yourself to touch your elbows to your knees.
  3. Keep your back pressed against the floor.
  4. Do not pull your head with the support of your hands.
  5. If you are not able to extend the lower leg completely, keep it bent. As you practice more try to extend the leg fully.
