Eat slowly to loose weight A very simple tip for cutting calories and stop eating before you are full is to eat slowly. The research found "People who eat quickly are three times more likely to be overweight than those who eat at a moderate pace". Try these simple tricks to pace yourself while enjoying your food.

1. Take small bites and chew propery, atleast 5 times before you swallow, then pause to take a sip of water. After evry 2 or 3 bites put down your fork.

2. If you are snacking bite size food at the office or home, then step away from the table in between.

3. If you are not able to control your eating speed even after trying hard, its good idea to have a chewy or salty food like bread or salty cracker in between bites. That makes your mouth dry and forces you to have a drink in between your bites.

4. Make your meal a bit spicy. Eat while food is hot. Spices has numerous health benefits and you’ll automatically eat more slowly.

5. Don't eat in front of TV or while you read. It becomes ‘mindless eating'.

6. Don't eat while you are walking, driving or talking on the cell phone.

7. When you eat with family, friends or co-workers, you eat slowly. Be more social and try to eat with someone.

8. Do not starve yourself. If you starve yourself, you wont be able to control the pace and quantity you eat when you eat.

9. Do not put more on the plate at the first serving. If you get more food on the plate, you tend to attack it fast to finish it.
